Scouting notes - Jett Taylor is one of the most explosive dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2026 class and arguably the most polished option QB prospect in the nation. At 6’1”, 185 pounds, he combines elite downhill speed, toughness as a runner, and outstanding efficiency as a passer. His ability to operate the option game at a high level while maintaining balance as a passer makes him a perfect fit for Navy’s offense. Taylor has a textbook throwing motion — compact release, good weight transfer, and excellent base balance. He’s mechanically ahead of many dual-threat QBs at his level. 2026 Navy QB commit Jett Taylor also exhibits elite burst and acceleration in the open field, as he is one of the fastest downhill runners in the country. He also plays with long-strider speed and natural balance through contact & his stamina and toughness are evident as he is capable of handling heavy rushing volume while remaining sharp as a passer. Taylor has a textbook throwing motion — compact release, good weight transfer, and excellent base balance. He’s mechanically ahead of many dual-threat QBs at his level. While not a pure power thrower, he has enough velocity to make every throw in Navy’s system and he excels on timing routes, seam balls, and play-action concepts off the option. Griffin’s spectacular 8th grade season has many college coaches extremely eager to see him suit up at Jesuit HS in Tampa this coming season, as he already possesses many next level attributes very early in the recruiting process and was the most productive 8th grade Varsity football player in the nation. Griffin is very nimble in the pocket and is a perfectionist at hurling off-balanced darts from multiple arm angles with outstanding velocity & uncanny precision. Much like Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, Will is an escape artist when under heavy duress as he has extremely nimble feet and is very dangerous when unleashing balls deep down the field while on the move. He also is very adept at getting the ball up & down quickly over the top of the defense into the very tightly knit windows of the defensive secondary, while also proving to have excellent timing with his receiving targets & the wherewithal to throw his receivers to the open part of the field away from defensive backs.
