He is a very sound tackler as a top 2025 DE recruit and exhibits violent hands when detaching from opposing offensive linemen, while proving to have the ability to quickly detach to bring ball carriers aggressively to the turf. Gus also has outstanding lateral movement and is able to quickly scrape down the line of scrimmage on outside & inside run plays to bring running backs abruptly to the ground.
