There are ironically 34 FCS vs FBS CFB games slated for week one of the NCAA football season and there are also some key match-ups that will set the tone nationally in each conference, just as Vanderbilt did in their thrashing of Hawaii in week zero. The Commodores did not only come out to prove that the SEC was the most dominant conference once again in 2022, but also have begun to write their transformation story as they start to rise from being perennial bottom dwellers of Southeastern Conference play. There were four FCS vs FBS match-ups in week zero, but there were not any major upsets produced by FCS teams in 2022 and I believe this will be the week that we see multiple FCS programs take down FBS opponents. (The irony of 34 is 3+4=7) CFB WEEK ONE PREDICTIONSCollege Football Now & ESPN Plus CFB week one predictions and last week's CFB week 0 prediction results can be found on College Football Today RokFin by clicking the College Football Now & ESPN+ 2022 ACC Football Predictions image below! 2022 FSU FOOTBALL PREVIEWThe College Football Today 2022 FSU football preview & prediction can be found below as the Florida State Seminoles prepare for their home opener against Duquense & the much anticipated match-up with the Louisiana State Tigers in the All-State Louisiana Kickoff in New Orleans! 2022 FLORIDA STATE FOOTBALLThe 2022 Florida State Seminoles football team is preparing heavily for a return to national prominence, which we have not witnessed the likes of since the Seminole glory days with Coach Bobby Bowden & Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Charlie Ward. Haven spoken to many former Seminoles like Marvin Jones & Lamont Green over the years, I know the that the FSU football alumni and Seminole faithful are eager for their team to start to develop into a potential national champion contenders. On December 8th, 2019 Coach Mike Norvell was introduced as Seminoles new head football coach, after quickly turning the Memphis Tigers into a top 25 college football program beginning at only 34 years of age. The Memphis faithful were most certainly quite disappointed during the College Football Today 2019 All-American Bowl once the news broke that they had lost one of the best coaches in the CFB today, but also wished him much success at his future home as he had helped bring many wonderful memories during his tenure. Thus far, things have not gone well for Coach Norvell in his first two seasons at Florida State, but after landing three top 25 recruiting classes in a row and also dominating in the transfer portal I believe this is the year we see things start trending upwards in the win column. 2022 LSU FOOTBALL PREVIEWThe College Football Today & ESPN Plus 2022 LSU football preview & prediction is brought to you by Scout Trout Elite! 2022 LSU TIGERS FOOTBALL![]() The 2022 LSU Tigers football squad went through a regime change this past off-season after boasting what many across the industry referred to as “The Greatest College Football Team Of All-Time” after the Tigers glorious 15 & 0 national championship season in 2019. After two .500 seasons, the Tigers athletic department felt it was time for a change and parted ways with Coach Ed Orgeron. This past off-season, the Tigers replaced Coach O and hired Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly, who has historically proved to be a winner across all levels of College Football Today. Coach Brian Kelly began his coaching career with Assumption football in Massachusetts as a defensive coordinator and took over as head coach at Grand Valley State from 1991 to 2003, where he won two NCAA D2 Championships. After turning the Central Michigan football team into a formidable program, Kelly led the Cincinnati Bearcats to a 12 win season in 2009, which led to them finishing the season ranked number three in the nation. After finishing at Cincinnati with a 34 & 6 record, Coach Kelly took over at Notre Dame and led the Fighting Irish to the BCS National Championship game in 2013 and CFB Playoff appearances in 2018 & 2020. The Notre Dame led Coach Kelly squad was able to finish 11 & 1 last season and capped the season off with an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl. So, what could we expect out of Coach Kelly in his first season at the helm of the LSU Tigers, as he obviously knows how to build a program and has been a consistent winner at all levels of collegiate athletics. LSU TIGERS FOOTBALL 2022![]() The LSU tigers football team will have some major holes to fill in 2022 after two .500 seasons and an embarrassing loss to Kansas State in the 2022 Texas Bowl. The Tigers defense allowed 31.9 points per game through the first seven games of the season, but showed improvement against Alabama, Arkansas, UL-Monroe and Texas A&M down the stretch. This led to Coach Kelly hiring Matt House away from the Kansas City Chiefs, who will bring a very deceptive NFL style defense to southeastern football conference play in 2022. The LSU defense returns top pass rushing defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy, Mekhi Wingo and sophomore Maason Smith, who made an enormous impact on the LSU Tigers defensive front during his true freshman campaign. The Tigers are very stout in 2022 up front and have two highly projected NFL Draft edge prospects in DE Ali Gaye & Jack Linebacker BJ Ojulari, who will be disguised in a multitude schemes to wreak havoc on opposing teams quarterbacks with their explosive athleticism. Sophomore Greg Penn III and (RS) SO Mike Jones Jr will be starting at linebackers, who both also possess the athletic prowess to hear their names called in future NFL Drafts. All in all, Coach House will have plenty of talent to concoct the perfect scheme weekly in SEC football play as the Tigers have re-booted their defensive backfield with Oklahoma State transfer CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse, Louisiana Ragin Cajuns transfer CB Mekhi Wingo & Arkansas transfer Safety Joe Foucha. Senior Jay Ward will look to be the anchor in the defensive backfield as he provides the most experience playing in the prestigious Tigers stadium in SEC West conference play. 2022 LSU TIGERS OFFENSEThe 2022 LSU tigers offense will be lighting up the scoreboard religiously under Coach Brian Kelly, if the Tigers can provide either Daniels or Brennan ample time in the passing game and open up running lanes for Penn State transfer Noah Cain. It appears that true freshman Will Campbell will be thrust into a starting role, as well as ETSU transfer OG Tre'Mond Shorts and FIU transfer OG Miles Frazier, as the Tigers only return RT SR (RS) Cameron Wire and OC JR Charles Turner. The Tigers will rely on explosive plays down the field out of wide receivers JR Kashon Boutte an SO Malik Nabers, as Daniels or Brennan will be implementing Coach Kelly's pro-style play-action passing scheme that bodes against over-pursuing & highly active SEC defenses. 2022 LSU FOOTBALL PREDICTIONThe College Football Today & ESPN Plus 2022 LSU football prediction will be available this week on College Football Today RokFin from the MGM Casino & Resort in Las Vegas! 2022 AUBURN TIGERS FOOTBALL PREVIEWThe College Football Today & ESPN Plus 2022 Auburn Tigers football preview is brought to you by Scout Trout Elite football recruiting! 2022 AUBURN TIGERS FOOTBALLThe 2022 Auburn Tigers football team appeared ready to take the next step in Coach Harsin's second season at Auburn and after departing the Tigers practice facilities, we felt very enthused about how competitive the Tigers of Auburn will be in 2022 SEC West play. The SEC West has proved to be the most difficult football division in all of college football today, but the Tigers have begun to amass the talent needed to potentially pull off some major upsets during the 2022 college football season. In Coach Bryan Harsin’s first season as a head coach he finished 7-5 at Arkansas State and then took over the Boise State Broncos in 2014, which led to the Broncos continued reign of Mountain West dominance. After boasting a 69-19 record as the Broncos Head Coach as well as four top 25 finishes, Harsin made the jump to the SEC and took over as coach of the Auburn Tigers. Coach Harsin and the Tigers are looking to improve on a season where they were able to defeat two SEC top 25 opponents in Ole Miss & Arkansas, but finished the season 6-7 overall and 3-5 in SEC play. The tough loss to Houston in the Birmingham Bowl still plagues the minds of the highly talented Auburn Tigers football team, who are eager to prove the naysayers wrong and contend for their fifth SEC West Title. 2022 AUBURN FOOTBALL RETURNING STARTERSThere are many 2022 Auburn football returning starters who will be key contributors for Coach Harsin, but there are a few key returners that made a significant impact during the 2021 season that are looking to make a statement for the 2023 NFL Draft. (JR) RB TANK BIGSBYAuburn running back Tank Bigsby was rated as the number one running back in the 2020 recruiting class by College Football Today & has been a workhorse out of the backfield for the Tigers offense since arriving on campus. Bigsby was able to amass over 2,200 yards from scrimmage during his true freshman & sophomore seasons and will once again be the key component for instant offensive production, as Bigsby is one of the clear favorites to win the prestigious Doak Walker Award. (SR) EDGE DERICK HALLAuburn Tigers edge rusher Derick Hall has many top flight NFL executives highly intrigued with his fast twitch and explosiveness as a top 2023 NFL Draft edge rusher, but will need to flourish and wreak havoc coming off the edge to here his name called in the first two rounds of next year's draft. Hall has gotten to the opposing team's quarterback a total of 13 times the past two seasons and was a significant factor in Auburn's defensive tactics that bewildered 2021 Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. OT KILIAN ZIERERTop 2020 Juco OT recruit Kilian Zierer has transitioned beautifully in Coach Harsin's offensive scheme and will once again be a significant factor up front, as he is a true mauler in the trenches who possesses NFL athleticism at the offensive tackle position. (SR) LB OWEN PAPPOEIf you have followed top football recruits over the past few recruiting classes, you probably already know that former five star recruit Owen Pappoe is an athletic freak that has NFL executives pondering what he is capable of in the National Football League. Owen has totaled 165 total tackles throughout his career and 6 sacks, but only competed in five games last season due to injury and is expected to be much more productive during his senior campaign. WR TAR'VARISH DAWSONTop 2021 ATH recruit Tar'Varish Dawson will be looked upon heavily when working out of the slot in the play-action and screen game, as he is one of the most explosive players on the Tigers 2022 roster. The main question still remains, who will be delivering the pigskin to the likes of Dawson and the Tigers play-makers in 2022? 2022 AUBURN STARTING QBThe 2022 Auburn starting QB still remains in question as the Auburn coaching staff has four highly talented quarterbacks on their roster heading into the 2022-2023 college football season. Learn more about the 2022 Auburn Tiger quarterbacks below and click HERE to see who Scout Trout believes will be starting this year for the Auburn football tigers during his visit to the beautiful Auburn University! (JR) QB TJ FINLEYFomer LSU transfer QB TJ Finley hurled 6 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign and only tossed one interception during the 2021 season, but lacked consistency when pushing the football down the field. Finley is the more experienced option in Harsin's offense and has worked hard over the off-season developing timing with his receiving targets, but was not as productive as needed at the QB position during the 2021 season. (SO) QB ZACH CALZADATexas A&M transfer QB Zach Calzada appeared in 12 games for the Texas A&M aggies last season and was able to throw for 2,185 yards and 17 TD's, while only hurling 9 interceptions in his sophomore year in SEC play. Calzada was rated a top five quarterback in the 2019 recruiting class at College Football Today and was able to lead the Aggies to a 41 to 38 upset over the Alabama Crimson-Tide, as Auburn fans are hoping he could potentially deliver a repeat performance in this seasons 2022 Iron Bowl match-up! 2022 AUBURN FOOTBALL PREDICTION |
